Hi, I'm Fernando

I'm a data analyst working at the bridge between people who have a question and the data that can answer it. My day-to-day involves SQL to fetch and clean data, Power BI to turn it into dashboards, and Python for deeper analyses and automation.

What motivates me most is watching a number stop being a debate and become a decision.

How I work

I start with the question, not the tool. Before building any chart, I talk to the people who will use the dashboard to understand which decision they need to make and how often.

I take care of the foundation before the showcase. A beautiful dashboard with wrong data is useless. That's why I validate the numbers with the people who know the process and document where each metric comes from.

I deliver simple, easy-to-maintain work. I prefer a few well-chosen metrics over a crowded screen. A good dashboard is one that's still being used months after delivery.

Why I write

On the blog I share what I'm studying and learning in practice. Writing forces me to truly understand a topic and opens space to exchange ideas with other people in the field. Most posts are in Portuguese.
